Toll Deducted in Bhavnagar While Car Parked at Home in Amod: Technical Glitch or Scam?
February 11, 2026
Jambusar: An incident has raised questions over the toll collection system after toll tax was deducted in Bhavnagar from a car that was allegedly parked at its owner’s home in Amod.
Babubhai Barjwala, a resident of Gujarat Society in Amod Nagar, had travelled to Mumbai on Friday for work, leaving his Renault Magnite (GJ16 DS 3540) parked in the courtyard of his house. However, he was shocked to receive a message stating that Rs 115 had been deducted as toll tax at the Rohisa Toll Plaza near Bhavnagar.
Surprised by the unexpected deduction, Babubhai immediately contacted the concerned agency operating the toll plaza and lodged a complaint seeking a refund of the amount.
The incident has triggered concerns among motorists, as the vehicle was reportedly stationary in Amod at the time the toll was charged in Bhavnagar. Questions are now being raised about whether the deduction was due to a technical fault in the electronic toll collection system or a scam targeting drivers.
Babubhai stated that despite the deduction being only Rs 115, he has had to answer several queries and complete procedures to reclaim his money.
The incident has sparked debate over the functioning of the National Highway toll collection mechanism and the need for stricter safeguards to prevent wrongful deductions from vehicle owners.
