Another FIR against Chirag Goti for ‘extorting’ businessman

Surat: In yet another case, Katargam police have booked history-sheeter Chirag Goti and his aide Yuvraj Jadav for alleged extortion, criminal intimidation, and threats at gunpoint following a complaint by businessman Prabhat Vyas.

Vyas alleged that in October 2021, Goti demanded ₹50 lakh to release four land plots, claiming his associates had taken possession despite Vyas already paying for the property to another person. During a meeting in Katargam, Goti and Jadav allegedly repeated the demand, and Goti reportedly brandished a revolver. After intervention by others present, Vyas allegedly agreed to pay ₹42 lakh.

Police said that after getting the money, Goti later released the plots and directed Vyas to deal with Jadav, who allegedly demanded 7.41-carat diamonds worth ₹4.81 lakh, threatened and assaulted him, and took the diamonds before completing the transfer of the plots.

Now, after his surrender in the drug planting case, this is another FIR that has been registered against Goti under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. Goti is also named in an earlier extortion and abduction case registered at Chowk Bazar police station. DeshGujarat
