CBSE board exams begin; 80,000+ students to appear in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Over 80,000 students affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in Gujarat will begin appearing for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations today, while more than 43.67 lakh candidates have registered nationwide this year.

In the state, over 45,000 Class 10 students and more than 35,000 Class 12 students are set to take the exams, compared with over 75,000 candidates who appeared last year.

CBSE will conduct examinations across 203 subjects, including 83 for Class 10 and 120 for Class 12. On the opening day, Class 10 students will write the Mathematics (Standard) and Mathematics (Basic) papers, while Class 12 candidates will appear for Entrepreneurship and Biotechnology.

The Class 10 examinations will conclude on March 11, whereas Class 12 exams will continue until April 10. The Board has also issued detailed instructions on items allowed inside examination halls. Students may carry admit cards, school identity cards, stationery in transparent pouches, geometry boxes, pens, pencils, transparent water bottles, and basic travel passes.

Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and pen drives remain strictly banned, with only diabetic students permitted to bring food.

CBSE has advised students to ignore rumours or misinformation related to paper leaks and rely solely on official communication from the Board for authentic updates. DeshGujarat
