February 17, 2026
Gandhinagar: Following an extensive Special Intensive Revision (SIR) conducted over three and a half months from October 27, 2025, the Election Commission on Tuesday published the final voter list, registering 4.40 crore voters across Gujarat.
Announcing the publication of the final electoral roll, Chief Electoral Officer Harit Shukla expressed gratitude to the citizens of Gujarat for their unprecedented cooperation in completing the revision within the stipulated time. The campaign saw active participation from 34 District Election Officers, 182 Electoral Registration Officers, 855 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and 50,963 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), along with numerous volunteers. Support was also extended by voters, media organisations, political parties, and civil society groups.
Out of a total 5,08,43,436 registered voters, enumeration forms were received from 4,34,70,109 electors within the deadline, and all forms were fully digitised. BLOs conducted continuous door-to-door surveys, identifying deceased voters, permanently migrated individuals, and duplicate registrations.
Before publication of the draft roll, the state had 5,08,43,436 voters. After verification and revision, the draft roll recorded 4,34,70,109 voters, while the final electoral roll now contains 4,40,30,725 voters, reflecting a net addition of approximately 5.60 lakh electors after draft publication.
Since the announcement of the SIR, enumeration forms were distributed to more than 5.08 crore voters. Meetings between BLOs and booth-level agents of political parties were also held to verify unreturned forms due to death, migration, or absence. Lists of such voters were published on the websites of the District Election Officers and the Chief Electoral Officer.
The final voter list has been made available at all polling stations and designated locations across Gujarat and is also accessible on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer. Two copies of the final roll—one printed photo copy and one soft copy without photographs—have been provided to recognised political parties in each district. Updated citizen photographs collected during the SIR will be incorporated in the next electoral roll revision.
