Gandhinagar: Gujarat Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai on Wednesday tabled a ₹4.08 lakh crore Budget for 2026–27 in the State Assembly, placing strong emphasis on boosting tourism and developing sports infrastructure in preparation for the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
The Budget projects a surplus of ₹974 crore, introduces no new taxes, and retains the existing five per cent tax rebate for electric vehicles.
Desai stated that the overall outlay has risen by ₹37,803 crore—an increase of 10.2 per cent—reaching ₹4,08,053 crore compared to the previous financial year.
