Illegal PG, Airbnb listings busted at Everest Enclave in Ahmedabad; AMC orders action
February 18, 2026
Ahmedabad: A surprise vigilance inspection by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has uncovered alleged misuse of residential units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) LIG-19 scheme at Everest Enclave in the Science City area of the city’s north-west zone. Authorities found that one flat was being used as a paying guest (PG) accommodation, while another had been registered as a PG property on the Airbnb platform.
The housing complex comprises six blocks with a total of 336 dwelling units. During the inspection, Block No. 5, House No. 105 was found to be operating as a PG facility. Meanwhile, Block No. 2, House No. 305 was found to be listed online as PG accommodation on the Airbnb website.
Officials also inspected 43 of the 336 units to determine whether the houses were self-occupied or rented out. Of these, 35 units were found locked, seven were being used by the allottees or their relatives, and one unit had been rented out.
The large number of locked units raised suspicion, and preliminary inquiries with neighbouring residents suggested that several of these houses may have been informally rented out. AMC has issued urgent instructions to the concerned zonal authorities to initiate further action in the matter. DeshGujarat
