‘Torture room’ found in Chirag Goti’s luxury bungalow in Surat

Surat: The police machinery has been put on alert following the revelation of a special room allegedly used for inhuman torture inside the grand bungalow of Chirag Goti, who had spread terror in the Katargam area.

According to the police investigation, Chirag Goti was operating a centre of brutality from his luxurious bungalow in Radheshyam Society. While the bungalow appears lavish and well-furnished from the outside, the interior reportedly presents a horrifying picture. A specially prepared room was found on the ground floor next to the parking area.

Investigators say the room was used as a torture chamber. Its proximity to the parking space made it easy to take victims directly from vehicles into the room. The gang allegedly summoned people there, threatened them, and extorted money. Those who refused to pay were beaten and subjected to severe physical torture. Preliminary findings suggest that third-degree torture was also inflicted to force victims into compliance.

Police have registered five serious offences against Chirag over the past nine days. Forensic teams have examined evidence recovered from the bungalow, including the room’s design and the arrangements inside. Officials believe more victims may come forward, while efforts are underway to trace other gang members.

Luxurious bungalow under tight surveillance

Chirag had installed a network of high-tech CCTV cameras throughout the bungalow to secure his criminal operations. Every entry and exit point was under constant surveillance. Strict monitoring was also maintained around the alleged torture room to prevent evidence from leaking and to keep the activities hidden from law enforcement.

Father arrested, younger brother absconding

Sources indicate that Chirag’s father, Dhanshyam Goti, has been arrested based on preliminary findings. Meanwhile, Chirag’s younger brother remains absconding and has been declared a fugitive. Multiple police teams are conducting raids at suspected locations. Officials say further key arrests in the case cannot be ruled out.
