ACB Gujarat booked 187 govt employees in bribe cases in 2025

Gandhinagar: A total of 187 government officials and employees in Gujarat were booked by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for bribery-related offences in the year ending December 31, 2025. The data was presented in the State Assembly by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi in response to a question.

Home and Revenue Departments See Highest Cases

According to official figures, the Home Department recorded the highest number of accused officials, with 63 individuals facing charges. This includes one Class I officer, two Class II officers, and 60 Class III employees.

The Revenue Department followed with 27 cases, involving two Class I and three Class II officers.

Other significantly affected sectors include:

  • Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development: 17 officials

  • Education Department: 10 officials

  • Central government employees within the state’s jurisdiction: 16 individuals

  • Narmada, Water Resources and Water Supply: 9 officials

Legal Outcomes and Conviction Rates

The Home Minister also outlined the legal status of corruption cases as of the end of 2025. Among the cases decided, 37 resulted in convictions, while 101 individuals were acquitted by the courts.

Departmental and Class-wise Breakdown

The data also provided a class-wise distribution of the accused across departments. While Class III employees formed the majority, a total of 13 Class I officers and 35 Class II officers were also booked.
