Dog Attack Case: Court Seeks Reply from 14 Vastrapur Society Members
March 07, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Rural Court has taken a strict stance in a 2022 case involving Satellite Centre housing society in Vastrapur, where residents filed a lawsuit after repeated dog attacks and sought compensation from the society’s management committee.
The court has issued show-cause notices to more than 14 committee members for alleged perjury and forgery after residents claimed that false records and fabricated evidence were submitted to mislead the court.
Notices had earlier been issued to the Ahmedabad Collector and the Housing Registrar as well, but no representatives from the two offices have appeared before the court so far.
Residents told the court that frequent dog attacks created fear among women, children and visitors in the society, and alleged that the management failed to act despite repeated complaints.
Apart from compensation, the residents have also requested the court to restrain the accused committee members from selling or transferring their flats until the case is resolved. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for March 25. DeshGujarat
