About 60% of shakhas consist of students, while 40% include professionals and businessmen, reflecting growing participation of youth.
In the service sector, 2,688 service projects are currently being run in Gujarat by RSS and its affiliated organisations.

Under the Griha Sampark Abhiyan, RSS volunteers contacted families across the country.
- Contact made in 3.89 lakh villages and towns
- Outreach in 31,000 local areas
- 10.02 crore families contacted nationwide
Dr Patel said the campaign received a positive response across communities. Volunteers also visited 55,000 Muslim households and 54,000 Christian households, where they were welcomed, he said.
Large-scale Hindu conferences held
More than 36,000 Hindu Sammelans have been organised across India so far as part of the centenary year activities, with programmes continuing in several regions, including Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Special commemorations and upcoming programmes
RSS volunteers organised over 2,000 programmes nationwide on the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, attended by over seven lakh people. Programmes were also held to mark 150 years of Vande Mataram.
The organisation also announced that grand programmes will be held across the country to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas.
Structural decentralisation planned
The RSS leadership has decided to move towards greater decentralisation in the organisational structure. Instead of the present 46 provinces (Prants), the organisation is planning to create more than 80 smaller divisions (Sambhags) after March 27 next year to improve coordination and expansion.
Dr Patel said the restructuring is aimed at strengthening grassroots work and improving reach at the local level, including in Gujarat. DeshGujarat
