Rajkot: The city cybercrime police on Sunday arrested a 31-year-old BHMS practitioner (homeopath) for allegedly installing a hidden spy camera inside a clinic on Sadhu Vaswani Road and using objectionable footage to blackmail another doctor. The police have booked 12 persons, including the doctor and several local journalists, in the case.
The main accused, Dr. Kamal Nandha, is alleged to have concealed the camera behind a bulb holder in the complainant’s clinic, where he recorded private moments of the complainant, a 49-year-old BAMS practitioner, along with a female doctor. Police said he also captured videos of patients during medical examinations and while injections were being administered.
According to the complaint, Nandha later shared the video clips with a group of scribes and demanded ₹25 lakh from the BAMS doctor to stop the footage from being circulated. The complainant stated that ₹50,000 had already been paid to the accused.
Investigating officer J. M. Kaila said preliminary inquiry revealed that the accused had been practising for the past seven to eight years and was currently providing online consultations. DeshGujarat
