PM Modi to Inaugurate/Lay Foundation of 44 Projects Worth ₹5,295 Crore in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for a series of development projects during his visit to his home state of Gujarat on March 31. A total of 44 urban development projects worth ₹5,295.54 crore will be launched to boost public welfare and strengthen modern infrastructure across the state.
Of these, foundation stones will be laid for 26 projects worth ₹3,427.14 crore, while 18 projects worth ₹1,868.40 crore will be inaugurated.
The largest share of projects will be undertaken by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, accounting for 32 projects worth ₹4,640.12 crore. Additionally, the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation will execute seven projects worth ₹304.82 crore, the Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority will handle three projects worth ₹272.86 crore, and the Gujarat Urban Development Corporation will implement two projects worth ₹77.74 crore.
To preserve the heritage of the historic town of Vadnagar and promote tourism, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the ‘Heritage Town Urban Development and Road Beautification’ project, developed at a cost of ₹34.45 crore. The project includes modern road infrastructure, underground lighting, sandstone signage, and artistic enhancements at key landmarks such as Hatkeshwar Temple and the Music Museum.
In Patan, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate an 898-metre-long, three-leg railway overbridge constructed at Gate No. 41-A (LC-41A) at a cost of ₹43.29 crore. The project is expected to ease traffic congestion and provide safer, faster connectivity to nearly two lakh residents.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will prioritise the inauguration of houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for poor and middle-class families, helping thousands realise their dream of owning a home.
Additionally, major drainage and infrastructure projects in newly developing areas of Ahmedabad are expected to significantly transform the city’s urban landscape in the coming years.

The Urban Development Department of the state government has finalised preparations for these programmes. The Prime Minister’s visit is expected to mark a significant step towards strengthening and modernising Gujarat’s urban infrastructure.
