Gandhinagar: Adani Total Gas Ltd. has once again increased the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by ₹1.50 per kg in Ahmedabad. With the latest revision, the retail price of CNG has reached ₹83.77.
The hike comes at a time when fuel prices and essential commodities have already seen an upward trend since April 1, further burdening consumers.
Recent Price Trend Shows Continued Increase
Although Adani had provided brief relief by reducing CNG prices by ₹1.21 on January 1, 2026, the rates have since been increased twice this year:
- February 7, 2026 – ₹0.50 hike
- April 2, 2026 – ₹1.50 hike
This marks a continued upward trend, with prices rising by around ₹2.60 after the earlier reduction.

In 2025 alone, CNG prices were increased four times, resulting in a cumulative hike of ₹3.40. The trend has continued into 2026, pushing prices to current highs.
The latest price hike is expected to significantly impact auto-rickshaw drivers, CNG taxi operators and daily commuters. With fuel costs rising steadily, operational expenses for drivers are increasing, which may eventually lead to higher fares for passengers. DeshGujarat
