Gujarat leads with distribution of 54000 plus 5 KG LPG cylinders: Govt

Surat/Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today in a press-note stated it has made arrangements to ensure LPG supply and food facilities for workers in coordination with the Labour and Employment Department, the Industries Department and industrial units across the state.

‘Under the arrangement, 100 per cent LPG is being supplied to canteens run by institutions under the Labour and Employment Department. In addition, 25 per cent of the allocated LPG quantity has been reserved for food preparation in industrial canteens,’ the State government said.

‘The state government has also arranged 5 kg LPG cylinders for workers. More than 54,000 such cylinders have been distributed so far. Further supply of 5 kg cylinders will be provided as per requirement in coordination with the concerned departments and industries.’

‘According to data from the Surat Railway Division, worker travel in 2026 is estimated at around 50 per cent compared to 2025. In the Surat Industrial Zone, including Valsad and Navsari, the number of workers migrating has remained low,’ the Government informed in a press release.

The government further informed that a meeting was held in Surat under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chief Minister, attended by the district collector and other officials along with representatives of industries.
