AMC Seals Vraj Dairy Unit for Selling Analogue Paneer as Real
April 10, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed a dairy unit in Nana Chiloda for allegedly producing and selling analogue paneer as real paneer, a release said.
The action came during an ongoing intensive drive by the Health Department of AMC to check the quality of paneer used by hotels, restaurants, and manufacturers across the city. The unit, Vraj Dairy, located at Shed No. 1, Block-C, Fortune Industrial Estate in Sardarnagar, was found manufacturing analogue products and selling them as ‘real’ paneer in various parts of Gujarat.
Citing public health concerns and misleading practices, authorities sealed the premises under the GPMC Act with immediate effect for an indefinite period. Around 100 kg of analogue product, valued at ₹24,000, was found stored inside the unit, and its sale has been halted.
The AMC said strict action will be taken under the FSSAI and GPMC Act against any individual or unit found compromising food safety standards during the ongoing inspections. DeshGujarat
