Beggars Rounded Up in Drive on SG Highway in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A joint enforcement drive by the Social Security Department of the Government of Gujarat, Ahmedabad Police’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), and the Urban Community Development (UCD) Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation led to action against 13 individuals found begging in key city areas.
The two-day operation, conducted on April 9 and 10, 2026, covered locations including ISKCON Bridge, Palladium Mall, and Pakwan Char Rasta. The individuals were rounded up during the drive, and legal proceedings were initiated.
