Shedhi Canal Repairs to Affect Water Supply in Parts of Ahmedabad
May 02, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Water Project Department of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation has announced that the Irrigation Department is undertaking urgent repair work on the Shedhi Canal, which supplies water to the Raska Water Purification Plant.
Due to the ongoing work, the water level in the canal has dropped, resulting in insufficient water availability at the Raska plant. Consequently, the plant will not be able to supply adequate water to the city.
Officials said the Irrigation Department is working to restore normal water levels by midnight on May 2, 2026.
In view of the situation, water supply will be reduced on May 3 in the Ramol-Hathijan area of the East Zone, Vastral ward, and all water distribution stations in the South Zone. Water will be supplied based on availability in these areas. DeshGujarat
