Gandhinagar: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat government on Tuesday transferred and reassigned 72 IAS officers across the state, affecting key positions in district administrations, municipal corporations, urban development bodies and state government departments. The General Administration Department issued the notification late on May 13, appointing new collectors in several districts including Ahmedabad, Surat, Bharuch, Navsari, Morbi, Dahod and Junagadh, while also reshuffling senior officers in Gandhinagar and major civic bodies.

Among the prominent changes, Ahmedabad Collector Sujeet Kumar has been appointed as Special Commissioner of State Tax, while Bhavya Verma has been posted as the new Collector of Ahmedabad. Surat Collector Dr. Sourabh Zamsingh Pardhi has been shifted to Gandhinagar as Director of Civil Supplies, and Tejas Dilipbhai Parmar has been appointed the new Surat Collector. The government also transferred several municipal commissioners and district development officers, besides assigning additional charges to a number of senior IAS officers in departments related to education, urban development, industries and tribal welfare.
