Amul Declares Pay Hike of Rs 10 for Milk Producers

Ahmedabad: In a major relief for lakhs of cattle farmers and milk producers across Gujarat, Amul Dairy has announced an increase of ₹10 per kg fat in milk procurement prices. The revised rates will come into effect from June 1, 2026, and are expected to provide a financial boost to dairy farmers amid rising fodder and livestock maintenance costs.

According to the revised pricing structure, the procurement price of buffalo milk has been increased from ₹865 to ₹875 per kg fat.

Amul has also revised procurement rates for cow’s milk. The purchase price for cow’s milk has been raised from ₹384.10 per kg fat to ₹388.65 per kg fat, translating into an increase of around ₹4.55 per litre.

Under the new rates, buffalo milk with 6 percent fat will be procured at ₹54.05 per litre, while buffalo milk with 7 percent fat will fetch ₹63.06 per litre. Cow’s milk with 3.5 percent fat will now be purchased at ₹36.68 per litre, while milk with 4 percent fat will be procured at ₹38.68 per litre.

The price revision is expected to benefit lakhs of dairy farmers associated with Amul’s cooperative network and provide a boost to the rural economy.

The increase comes at a time when cattle farmers are grappling with rising feed and livestock maintenance costs after the summer season, with the revised rates expected to provide much-needed financial relief. DeshGujarat
