Ahmedabad: International connectivity from Ahmedabad is set to expand further, with Sri Lankan carrier FitsAir launching a new direct flight service between Ahmedabad and Colombo from June 19.

The new route will connect Ahmedabad directly with Colombo and is expected to strengthen travel links between Gujarat and Sri Lanka while offering passengers another international leisure destination.

The service will be operated by FitsAir with multiple weekly frequencies. According to the published schedule, Ahmedabad-Colombo flight 8D962 will depart at 3:40 am on Mondays and Wednesdays and arrive in Colombo at 6:50 am. Another weekly service, flight 8D964, will depart Ahmedabad at 10:45 am on Fridays and arrive in Colombo at 1:55 pm.

On the return leg, flight 8D961 will depart Colombo at 11:25 pm on Tuesdays and Sundays and arrive in Ahmedabad at 2:35 am the following day. Meanwhile, flight 8D963 will operate on Fridays, departing Colombo at 6:30 am and landing in Ahmedabad at 9:40 am.

The launch is expected to provide Gujarat travellers with easier access to Sri Lanka, a destination increasingly popular for beach tourism, cultural experiences and short international vacations. DeshGujarat
