Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) has launched a major inspection drive targeting hotels, educational institutions, and coaching classes to ensure strict compliance with fire safety regulations across the city.

As part of the citywide drive, notices were issued to a total of 154 hotels and 62 educational and coaching institutions. Additionally, 13 hotels and one educational/coaching institution were sealed for serious violations of fire safety regulations.

Zone-wise, notices were issued to 20 hotels in the South West Zone. In the South Zone, notices were served to 13 hotels and three educational/coaching institutions.

In the Central Zone, notices were issued to 27 hotels and eight educational/coaching institutions.

The North West Zone saw notices issued to 24 hotels and five educational/coaching institutions, while six hotels were sealed for serious violations. In the East Zone, notices were served to 16 hotels and 24 educational/coaching institutions.

The maximum action was taken in the West Zone, where notices were issued to 47 hotels and 12 educational/coaching institutions. Seven hotels and one educational/coaching institution were sealed for serious violations. In the North Zone, notices were issued to seven hotels and 10 educational/coaching institutions.

According to the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services Department, such inspection and enforcement drives will continue to ensure strict compliance with fire safety regulations across the city and safeguard the lives and property of citizens. Strict action will continue to be taken against establishments that fail to comply with fire safety norms.
