Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express to Run via Botad from Aug 17; Check New Route

Sabarmati: Indian Railways has revised the route of the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express, with the change set to come into effect next month. The Railway Board approved the revised alignment in June.

In a letter dated June 8, 2026, the Railway Board informed Western Railway that Train Nos. 26901/26902 Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express will operate via Botad-Jetalsar-Junagadh instead of its current route through Viramgam-Surendranagar-Rajkot-Jetalsar-Junagadh.

New route from August 17

According to Western Railway, the Sabarmati-Veraval-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express will begin operating via the Gandhigram-Botad route from August 17, 2026. Under the revised schedule, the train will complete the journey in 6 hours and 50 minutes. It will continue to run on all days except Thursday.

Ticket bookings for the train on the new route will open shortly.

Revised stoppages

With the route change, the Vande Bharat Express will halt at seven stations: Gandhigram, Dholka, Dhandhuka, Botad, Dhola, Dhasa, and Junagadh.

At present, the train stops at Viramgam, Surendranagar, Wankaner, Rajkot, and Junagadh.

Timings remain unchanged

Train No. 26901 will depart Sabarmati at 6:00 am and arrive in Veraval at 12:50 pm. On the return journey, Train No. 26902 will leave Veraval at 3:50 pm and reach Sabarmati at 10:25 pm.
