Chandlodiya Railway Bridge Work to Begin; Traffic Diversions Announced

Ahmedabad: Western Railway’s Ahmedabad division is set to undertake construction of a new railway bridge in the Chandlodiya area along the Sabarmati–Sarkhej railway route. The contract for the work has been awarded to Khodal Corporation.

The new bridge is being constructed alongside Railway Bridge No. 5 as part of the work to lay a second railway line on the Sabarmati–Sarkhej route. During the construction, the road passing under the existing Railway Bridge No. 5 will remain closed to vehicular traffic.

According to the traffic diversion plan, the 100-metre stretch under Railway Bridge No. 5 in Chandlodiya will be closed to all types of vehicles for around four months. The construction work will be carried out round the clock during this period.

Alternative Route

Traffic will be diverted through Railway Bridge No. 4, located next to Bridge No. 5.

  • Vehicles travelling from Chandlodiya towards New Ranip, Chenpur, Sabarmati and Chandkheda can pass under Railway Bridge No. 4 and proceed towards their respective destinations.
  • Vehicles coming from New Ranip, Chenpur, Sabarmati and Chandkheda can also use Railway Bridge No. 4 to continue their journey.

The traffic diversion will remain in place for the duration of the bridge construction work. DeshGujarat
