ACB Gets 4-Day Remand of Ex-Ahmedabad Fire Chief; Suspended GAS Officer Ketki Vyas Nabbed

Ahmedabad: The Local ACB court has granted four more days of remand for Ahmedabad Chief Fire Officer Amit Dongre, now terminated, who is an accused in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Fire Department bribery case.
The additional remand has been sought to conduct a search of a bank locker in Bhopal, Dongre’s hometown. The ACB will now take the accused to Bhopal as part of the investigation.
Meanwhile, accused Bhavsinh Zala has been sent to Sabarmati Central Jail after a court warrant was issued against him.
In another development, Ketkiben Vyas, the then Resident Additional Collector of Anand and a senior-scale Gujarat Administrative Service (Class-1) officer who is currently under suspension, has been arrested by the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch and handed over to the ACB.
Vyas, who was wanted in a disproportionate assets case, has been brought to the ACB office, where proceedings for her formal arrest have been initiated.
According to the investigation, the Crime Branch arrested Vyas from Shela, where she was staying at her sister’s residence. The ACB is now expected to question her as part of the ongoing investigation.
