Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against Ketkiben Vyas, the then Resident Additional Collector of Anand and a senior-scale Gujarat Administrative Service (Class-1) officer, who is currently under suspension, on charges of amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs. 3.56 crore. According to the ACB, a preliminary investigation found that her assets were 68.84 per cent higher than her known sources of income.
The ACB is conducting a special drive under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amendment Act, 2018) to detect cases of government officials and employees allegedly amassing assets beyond their legitimate income by misusing their official positions. As part of this drive, an inquiry was carried out into the assets of Ketkiben Vyas.
According to the investigation, Ketkiben Vyas allegedly misused her position as a public servant during the check period from April 1, 2012, to March 31, 2023, and accumulated disproportionate assets worth Rs. 3,56,03,910 compared to her legitimate income. The ACB alleged that the amount was invested in movable and immovable properties in the names of herself and her family members.
Based on the findings, a case has been filed against Ketkiben Vyas at the Ahmedabad ACB Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and its 2018 amendment.
