Indian Railways Approves ₹153-Crore Four-Lane ROB at Geratpur – Ahmedabad Section

Ahmedabad: Indian Railways has approved a ₹153-crore four-lane road over bridge (ROB) at the Geratpur level crossing in east Ahmedabad, aimed at improving traffic flow and safety as the city continues to expand.

The project, sanctioned under Western Railway, is expected to ease congestion at the busy level crossing in the densely populated area and eliminate traffic bottlenecks.

The proposed ROB will include a 106-metre railway span, comprising two 53-metre composite girders, followed by a 150-metre viaduct. The railway approach will extend for 595 metres, with the longer stretch planned to accommodate the surrounding urban development.

Once completed, the ROB will replace the existing level crossing and allow vehicles to move across the railway tracks without interruption. Railway officials said the project is expected to reduce travel time, improve connectivity and ease congestion on local roads. DeshGujarat
