New Delhi: Commercial production at the Suchi Semicon OSAT facility in Palsana, Gujarat, was launched on Thursday during the inauguration of SEMICON India 2026 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi also marked the commencement of commercial production at the CDIL Semiconductor ATMP facility in Mohali, Punjab, as India showcased the expansion of its semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, Modi highlighted India’s recent economic and infrastructure milestones, noting that the country recorded 7.8% quarterly GDP growth despite a challenging global environment.
SEMICON India 2026, being held from September 17 to 19 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, is themed “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.” The event brings together companies, policymakers, investors, researchers, start-ups and academic institutions from across the semiconductor and electronics value chain.
The exhibition features more than 600 participating companies, along with country pavilions, state booths, a start-up pavilion, innovation showcases, a student hackathon and a workforce development pavilion.
The launch of commercial production at Suchi Semicon’s Palsana facility marks another step in Gujarat’s growing role in India’s semiconductor packaging and manufacturing ecosystem. Suchi Semicon’s OSAT project was approved under the India Semiconductor Mission, with a proposed capacity of 1,033.20 million chips annually for applications including power electronics, analogue ICs and industrial systems.
