AMC Razes Illegal Encroachments Obstructing Asarwa ROB Redevelopment
October 24, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Friday demolished illegal structures obstructing the piers and pile caps on both sides of the Asarwa railway overbridge (ROB), clearing approximately 200 square metres of encroached land.
The drive targeted around 10 temporary and permanent encroachments along the Town Planning (TP) road, including extensions, huts and platforms (otlas). The unauthorised structures were located near the points where the bridge ramps descend.
The civic body had closed the decades-old Asarwa bridge a year ago, and redevelopment work is currently underway. DeshGujarat
