Ekta Nagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is participating in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat on Saturday, marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The celebrations will feature the Ekta Parade, cultural performances and a special theatrical presentation highlighting the transformation of regions affected by Left-Wing Extremism.

At the start of his programme here, the Prime Minister offered floral tributes at the Statue of Unity. He later inaugurated projects, dedicated them to the nation and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹400 crore in Ekta Nagar.

The projects inaugurated include a sewage and water treatment plant, facade lighting, the upgradation of Narmada Ghat, an IRCTC hotel, and the Rainforest, Unity and Eco Trail. He also laid the foundation stones for projects including the development of the Gora-Bhandra Road, an integrated zero-waste smart solid waste management project, Khalwani Eco Tourism Development, and the integrated development of the Cactus and Butterfly Garden.

As part of the celebrations, the Ekta Parade will showcase the discipline, professionalism and dedication of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), state police forces and central police organisations. This year’s parade will also highlight the achievements of security forces in combating Left-Wing Extremism and the transformation of previously affected regions towards peace, security and development.

A major attraction will be a special theatrical presentation on Naxal Mukt Bharat, organised by the National School of Drama (NSD), featuring around 2,000 artists from 126 districts affected by Left-Wing Extremism. The performance will depict the challenges faced by communities in these regions and their journey towards peace and development.

The celebrations will also feature tableaux and cultural performances themed around Vande Mataram, showcasing patriotism, national pride, India’s cultural diversity and the development journeys of states and Union Territories. A grand cultural presentation involving around 5,000 artists from across the country will highlight India’s classical and folk traditions, music, dance and artistic heritage. DeshGujarat
