Modi to highlight success stories of earlier MoU’s in the next Vibrant Gujarat Summit: Rupani

Anjar (Gujarat): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will e-inaugurate several projects in his home-state for which MoU’s were singed during the previous editions of Vibrant Gujarat Summit in the next edition of this global investors meet slated to be held in January in capital city Gandhinagar, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today informed.

Addressing a function after the foundation stone laying of Rs 600 crore carpet, area rugs and carpet tiles facility and e-inauguration of the 30 million liter per day capacity waste water treatment plant of the Welspun group near Anjar in Kutch district, Mr Rupani said that it would be a novelty for the next edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

‘The opposition parties often criticize the government about the so-called non-clarity on the status of the MoU’s singed during the earlier editions of Vibrant Gujarat summits. They allege that only MoU’s are singed in such events and execution was done. To counter it, this time around as a novel move the success stories of such MoU’s singed during the previous editions will be highlighted from the stage of the biennial event.

‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi will himself e-inaugurate many such projects(including a unit of Welspun) from the Vibrant Gujarat 2017 stage, which are completed and for which the MoU’s were singed during the previous events. There will be two novelties in this edition of the summit including this highlighting of the success and inauguration of project,’ the Chief Minister said.

Mr Rupani said that altogether 11 Nobel prize winners including those from the fields of Physics, Chemistry and Medicine will also participate in the event this time around. They will also take part in a month long science exhibition to be organized in the science city which will also be inaugurated by the prime minister.

Taking a dig at the opposition, the chief minister said that now fortunately the government at center was also that of the BJP.

‘During earlier editions many hurdles were created to foil the success of the event when our government was not there at the center. They wanted to somehow ensure that the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and Modi (as the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi) do not succeed. But now fortunately we have Modi ji there at the center. This time around more and more investment will come paving the way for many more employment opportunities. Delegates from 110 countries will participate in it and there are 12 partner countries including the US, the UK, Canada and the UAE,’ the chief minister said.
