State Election Commission of Gujarat announces by-polls for 42 vacant panchayat/municipality seats

Gandhinagar: State Election Commission of Gujarat has today announced by-polls of vacant seats of municipalities and district/taluka panchayats.
Notification for the by-polls will be out on 22nd of May. The last date of filing nominations will be 27 May. Polling will take place on Sunday, 11th of June during 8.00 am to 5.00 pm through electronic voting machines. Repolling if needed will take place on 12 June while the results will be out on 13 June.
By-polls for municipality wards will be held in Mansa, Palitana, Botad, Dhoraji, Jetpur-Navagadh, Dhrol(2 seats), Babra and Okha municipalities(1 seat in each barrng Dhrol).
By-polls for district panchayat seat will be held for Gangad seat of Ahmedabad.
By-polls for taluka panchayat seats will eb held for Kadana, Virpur, Bhabhar, Danta Dhanera, Amirgadh, Diyodar, Harij, Satlasna, Mahuva(2), Vagra, Bharuch, Jambusar, Shihor, Porandar, Thangadh, Una, Mahemdavad, Dwarka, Bhanvad(3 seats), Ranpur, Vyara, Dolvan, Uchchal, Savli, Petlad, Viramgam, Bavla and Vankaner(1 seat each barring Mahuva and Bhanvad).
Thus polling will take place for 32 vacant seats of taluka panchayats, 1 seat of district panchayat and 9 seats of municipalities.
