Kutch to soon get Indo – Israel Centre of Excellence for Dates

Bhuj: Border district Kutch will soon have a Centre of Excellence for dates in cooperation with the government of Israel. The centre which is being developed in 10 acre land near Kukma village is located 10 km away from district headquarters Bhuj.
The central government has allocated Rs 4.5 crore grant for this project which is titled as ‘Indo – Israel Centre of Excellence for Dates’. Construction of building for this project is completed. A training centre in this building will have capacity to accommodate 50 farmers.
Kutch exports dates to middle east and other parts of the world. The new centre will held to enhance the farming and processing techniques.
Recently a Centre of excellence for mango was inaugurated at Talala near Junagadh in Saurashtra region of Gujarat.
