Schools and colleges in Gandhinagar to remain closed, 27 villages alerted

Gandhinagar: All schools and colleges in Gandhinagar district will remain closed as per an announcement made by district collector Satish Patel.
27 villages are alerted due to danger level of water in Dharoi dam of North Gujarat. People in low lying areas are asked to shift to safer places.
The present inflow at Dharoi dam is 1,41,000 cu sec. If such inflow continues, the level of water in Dharoi dam will reach 617 at 10.00 pm. In such situation, initially 50,000 cu sec water will be released to downstream river Sabarmati. Later the discharge will change in proportion to inflow.
Isanpur mota, Magodi, Dabhoda, Vadodara, Galudan, Basan, Vankanerda, Sonarda, Raipur, Lodra, Shahpur, Pethapur pindarda, Piplaj, Bhat, Mahudi, Anodia, Dodipad, Gunma, Varsoda, Ambod, Delvad, Lakroda, Kotwas, Khadat, Amarpura jethlaj, Aluva and Hajipur are among the villages that are identified as sensitive.
District Collector has asked people not to go to bridges, river bank, ponds and not to send children outside.
