Flood-hit constituencies in need but Congress MLAs having leisure time in Bangalore resort: Gujarat BJP
July 29, 2017
Gandhinagar:
Gujarat BJP today slammed Congress MLA for having ‘leisure’ time in five-star resort near Bangalore while their people in their flood-hit constituencies are seeking their service.
State BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya said, ‘on one hand BJP workers, MLAs, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, ministers Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Shankarbhai Chaudhary and entire ministry is occupied in giving their service to flood-affected people of Gujarat, the Congress MLAs are instead of serving their constituencies are having fun in five-star hotel in Bangalore.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel echoed the sentiment and said look how Congress MLAs have gone to Bangalore resort for enjoyment while flood-hit constituencies they represent need their service.
Former leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela who left Congress party earlier this month was on two-day tour to flood-hit areas of north Gujarat. In reply to media, Shankersinh opined that Banaskantha district MLAs should not go to Bangalore. They should stay here, distribute food packets, walk bare foot and move through their constituency. It’s not good that they left their constituencies in such a poor condition of their area.
It should be mentioned here that MLAs of Dhanera, Vadgam and other flood-affected areas of North Gujarat flew to Bangalore last night. They are now in 500-acre multi-golf course Eagleton resort.
Bangalore is capital of Congress-ruled Karnataka state in South India. Eagleton resort is located 50 km from Bangalore. Karnataka Police has deployed its teams outside and inside the resort in order to protect the Congress MLAs. One-day cost of individual to live in this resort is believed Rs 15,000. The resort has helipad, suit rooms, lounge and bar, auditorium, multi-level swimming pool, tennis courts, rejuvenation SPA facility, multi-cuisine restaurant and other facilities.
Karnataka MP DK Suresh spoke to media persons outside the resort gate and said, “MLAs from Gujarat are taking rest and relaxing in this holiday resort. We will take them to visit the places of their choice tomorrow. They can stay here for longer.”
News Agency ANI released photographs of Gujarat MLAs having food in resort which are now viral online and on TV channels.
Social media too raised questions over Congress move to take MLAs of flood-hit constituencies outside the state and keeping them in luxurious resort for leisure time.
