Gandhinagar:
Even as the Gujarat Chief Secretary J N Singh today reportedly sent the reply to Election Commissions query on the allegations of Congress party regarding horse-trading threats to its MLA’s in the state from ruling BJP, the home department issued instruction to the police to provide adequate additional security to the MLA’s of the main opposition party and their families.
Mr Singh emailed his reply to the commission which had sought a report some time ago on the Congress allegations in which it was also claimed that the family members of the Congress MLA’s were being threatened and a party MLA was allegedly kidnapped by an SP rank official.
The hard copy of the reply letter was also faxed to the Chief Election Commissioner office and mailed through regular post. The details of the reply were not known, however it is understood that the allegations of Congress have been negated in it.
Even the SP of Tapi district has himself refused the allegations.
On the other hand, the state home department has also issued instructions to the respective district police chiefs to provide adequate additional security to the MLA’s and their family members.
Meanwhile, Amit Chaudhary, Cong MLA from Mansa saet who was one of the around half a dozen party MLA’s who has opted to not to join the remaining over 40 legislators flocked in a Bangalore resort after the resignation of six Congress MLAs some time ago, today offered to return his security saying he did not need it and did not feel any kind of threat.
