Mahendrasinh speaks up on concerns expressed by father Shankersinh on him joining BJP
July 15, 2018
Gandhinagar: Former Bayad MLA and son of former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela today speaking to media persons said: There’s no question of pressure of joining BJP. As long as six months time has gone in process. I spoke to voters to give vote to BJP last year in December and I am joining BJP today in July 2018. I had not campaigned for Bajpu’s Jan Vikalp party. I had discussed with Bapu(Shankersinh) and our many friends have joined BJP. I will speak to him further. I will contact my supporters and speak to them. I will speak to State BJP chief Jitubhai Vaghani and fix a date of my supporters’ induction to BJP. Shankersinh Bapu has expressed concerns that are valid that I should go to BJP along with my supporters. One fact is also that my most supporters have joined BJP already. In my former constituency Bayad most of my supporters have joined BJP already. Look at the recent Taluka Panchayat formation. The members who are linked to me have joined BJP a fortnight ago.
Mahendrasinh joined BJP yesterday after which Shankersinh addressed a press conference and asked that Mahendrasinh should call a meeting of supporters from all over Gujarat in a week and take their consent first. If they give consent, Mahendrasinh should join BJP and if they express dissent, Mahendrasinh should leave BJP.
