BJP state president Jeetu Vaghani today termed the fast by PAAS leader Hardik Patel as an attempt of ’emotional blackmailing’ at the instance of Congress party which in its 8 page memorandum to CM Vijay Rupani on his issue has not mentioned the word ‘Anamat’ (reservation) for Patidar community even once.

Addressing a press conference here Vaghani, also a Patidar himself said that Congress which has been ousted by people of Gujarat for its falsity and cheater-like behaviour has not used the word Patidar reservation even once in its 8 page memorandum.

He also showed a copy of the memorandum handed over earlier to CM Rupani by a delegation of the party led by LoP Paresh Dhanani.

‘They have not written anything about Patidar reservation in the memorandum. It exposes their falsity again. Today PAAS people phoned us on the issue of reservation but Congress and its agents who opposed BJP openly in the elections and sought vote for congress and openly called names about the BJP are now deviating from the main issue,’ Vaghani said.

He said that the BJP government in the state was not against any democratic protest but it should not be used for emotional blackmail to compel the government for anything or creating rift in society on the basis of caste.

‘While announcing about the fast In Surendranagar event earlier on they said that they won’t talk to the government and uproot it. The so called agitationists should ask Congress to clear its stand on reservation. Kapil Sibbal has not brought forth his claimed draft about the reservation formula for Patidars till now. The Congress party which cheats OBC, SC/ST is also doing the same with Patidar community,’ he said.

Taking a dig at Hardik and his team for their open support to Congress in last assembly election Vaghani said that they had opposed us tooth and nail and tried to defeat us but we won due to blessings of people of Gujarat and now they are posing to be neutral.

He said that Congress which had imposed emergency in the country and also took strict police action during event of Baba Ramdev in Delhi is talking about democratic agitation. It is its double speak.

The so-called agitationists in their ego had even neglected the six outfits of Patidar community which have done so much for the community.The government has done so much for farmers and still doing things for them. The agricultural growth rate in Gujarat during BJP regime is 11% and being maintained at this level. In Congress regime the farmers were miserable and now they get steady power, loan at 0% rate. Keeping intact the reservation for SC/ST and OBC, it has made several provisions including constitution of corporation and commission for unreserved classes and schemes for their benefit. But congress is only eyeing vote bank and making Hardik a pawn of its game.

He said that Hardik should take doctors advise. People of Gujarat know that Congress want to create anarchy and disturb peace in the state.
