Only BJP stands with Kerala and its culture: PM Modi lashes out at LDF, UDF over Sabarimala
January 15, 2019
Kollam, Kerala: PM Modi has castigated the LDF and UDF alliances in Kerala, for their stand on Sabarimala, and for their hypocrisy on women’s rights.
Addressing a massive rally in Kollam, he said that it “pains” him, “that the Kerala of spirituality & tranquility, the Kerala of harmony & happiness, has become hostage to corruption & communalism of two alliances – LDF & UDF.”
Noting that for a few months, the entire nation has been talking about Sabarimala, he said: *”The conduct of Kerala’s LDF Government on the Sabarimala issue will go down in history as one of the most shameful behaviours by any Party and Government.”*
*”We knew that the Communists do not respect Indian history, culture and spirituality. But nobody imagined, they would have such hatred,”* the Prime Minister added.
Showing a mirror to the UDF too, he said: “The Congress has multiple stands – they say one thing in Parliament but a different thing in Pathanamthitta.’
Modi said that the BJP’s stand has always been clear, and, the actions of the party match its words.
“If there is one party that has been at the fore-front of standing with Kerala and its culture, it is BJP”, he said.
PM Modi also noted that the Left and the Congress, make tall claims about respect to gender justice and social justice. But their actions are exactly the opposite, he said.
Noting that the NDA Government has been working towards abolishing Triple Talaq, he pointed out that the Communists and the Congress, are opposing this move.
