Ahmedabad: Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has started operating metro train for public on 6.5 km stretch between Apparel Park and Vastral stations in East Ahmedabad from today. Phase -1 of Ahmedabad Metro was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 4.

According to GMRC, people are allowed to board metro train for free till Marh 15. After the trial run period is over, ticket fare will be effective. GMRC has finalized Rs. 5 ticket fare for first 2.5 km, Rs. 10 for 2.5 to 7.5 km and Rs. 25 for Vastral to Thaltej journey( for which work is going on between Apparel Park and Thaltej stations).
