Congress announces 4 Lok Sabha seat candidates for Gujarat, 11 for U.P.

New Delhi: Main opposition party Indian National Congress (INC) today announced the first list of 15 candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha general elections. The list includes 11 candidates for Uttar Pradesh and 4 for Gujarat. UPA chair person Sonia Gandhi will contest from Rae Bareli while Rahul Gandhi will contest from Amethi.
Among Gujarat candidates declared is former Rajya Sabha MP Raju Parmar. He will contest Ahmedabad West seat which is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidate.
Former union minister Bharatsinh Solanki who is former State Congress president will contest Anand Lok Sabha seat. Solanki has represented Anand in Lok Sabha number of times. Solanki is son of former Gujarat CM Madhavsinh.
Prashant Patel has been selected as candidate for Vadodara Lok Sabha seat which is urban strong hold of BJP. PM Narendra Modi had in 2014 contested the election from two seats among which one was Vadodara.
Ranjit Rathwa, son of senior most Congress MLA Mohansinh Rathwa will contest from tribal populated Chhota Udepur Lok Sabha seat of Central Gujarat.
