On Congress’s Rajya Sabha Nominees March 2020
March 14, 2020
New Delhi: There are 12 people who have been nominated by the Congress Rajya Sabha in March 2020.
The kind of people chosen ticks every column that the people have come to expect from Congress – dynasts, Gandhi family loyalists, un-electables, election losers, and even an anti-national connection!
In Congress, Surname Bigger Than Certificate
-There are many dynasts in the fray.
-Deepender Singh Hooda, son of Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Bharatsinh Solanki, son of Madhavsinh Solanki. Rajeev Satav, son of former Maharashtra minister RajnitaiSatav.Phulo Devi Netam, daughter of Arvind Netam.
-This clearly shows the edging out of honest, hardworking Congressmen in favour of dynasts with big surnames.
Being Close to ‘First Family’ Matters
-KTS Tulsi, who fights cases for Robert Vadra, who is seen as close to Rahul Gandhi, but has no other important social/community service background has been nominated. This is clearly only due to his proximity to the Gandhis and nothing else.
-Digvijaya Singh, another has-been, who is more famous for his controversial statements against Hindus and against women. He too has clearly been chosen only for loyalty to Gandhis even if he has not made a single positive contribution in the past years.
-KC Venugopal, another person who is almost always seen around Rahul Gandhi, is a candidate. Rooted leaders from states have spoken against his high-handed style but loyalty to Gandhis rewards him.
Un-electables and Poll Losers Dominate
-KTS Tulsi has never fought polls and will never win a poll even if he fights.
-Rajeev Satav ran away from polls, refusing to contest in 2019, even from the constituency he had won in 2014
-KC Venugopal did not fight LS polls from Alappuzha from where he was 2 time MP. Now, he is entering Parliament through RS.
-Deepender Singh Hooda lost a high profile election from Rohtak in May 2019, despite being the son of former CM.
And wherever Congress is, some forces cannot be far away. They have joined hands with Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF in proposing a joint candidate in a Rajya Sabha seat in Assam.
