Wuhan Coronavirus: Isolation facility created at Sports Club in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has set up quarantine facility for passengers coming from foreign countries affected by Wuhan coronavirus, at Sports Club in Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad.

According to officials, passengers coming at the airport from foreign countries affected by Chinese Wuhan coronavirus are to be kept at this facility for 24 hours in isolation. The set up can accommodate 50 persons at a time. A team of doctors is deployed here for their screening along with staff nurse, pharmacist, house keeping staff etc. Those who are to be kept here will be catered breakfast, lunch and dinner for free of cost. Table tennis, chess board, carom board are also kept for their entertainment. An ambulance is deployed here to take needy person to nearby SVP hospital of AMC.

The club has been closed for all activities from 6pm on Tuesday. Some 26 rooms at the club are used to monitor patient health by state health department officials.

The passengers are brought to this facility by AMTS buses deployed at SVPI airport. On arrival of a person, a health officer at counter offers guidance.

Similar facility has also been created at a five-start hotel in GIFT City in Gandhinagar and other places including Sola civil hospital.
