146 Coronavirus cases in Gujarat; major share of new cases from densely populated Muslim areas

Gandhinagar: 2 more COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Surat, taking the total number of cases in the state to 146. 87 cases in the state are of local transmission, said Jayanti Ravi Principal Secretary (Health).
– Total and strict lockdown in hotspot areas that are sealed. Local public within hotspot areas will not come out and other will not enter inside. Maximum testing will be done in hotspot areas and full force concentration and action there:Gujarat govt

Amdavad:Dhruvnagar & Rasulabad belt-Danilimda, Bapunagar-Rakhial, Hirabag-Ambawadi, Chamadiavas-Jamalpur, MatavadiPol-Dariyapur, Malekshah Masjid-Dariyapur, Crystal Flat-Jamalpur
AMC Commissioner: AMC is now using a strategy of Intensive Surveillance & Enhanced Testing, which shall result into many more reported cases in upcoming days. This will however, certainly reduce transmission of Covid19 infection and help save many lives.

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has now 144 Coronavirus cases with addition of 16 new cases detected since last evening. Highest number of cases are in Ahmedabad that are 64. Principal Secretary, Health said a trend has been seen that there are more number of cases happening in densely Muslim populated areas. Barring one, all new cases detected today are from densely populated Muslim areas.Principal Secretary urged that Muslim community leaders should come out with messages in social media for awareness.
