AMC declares 15 more private hospitals in the city as Designated Covid Hospital

Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today took decision to declate more private hospitals in the city as Covid designated hospitals, in view of significant flow of Covid patients coming to the city for treatment from outside.
The new private hospitals will be able to use 100 per cent beds for own privately admitted patients and therefore AMC will not need to pay charges for vacant beds or advance grant. In future when required, AMC will be able to use its 50 per cent beds.
Existing 59 private hospitals designated for Covid treatment will however continue to have provision of 50 per cent beds reserved for AMC referred patients. The AMC in its statement said that beds reserved for AMC in 59 private Covid designated hospitals are available in surplus.
In order to create facility of 500 extra beds for Covid patients from outside the city, and ensure availability of more critical beds (with HDU, ICU and Ventilator etc facilities), AMC has declared 15 more designated Covid hospitals.
AMC will need to be informed when patients from outside the city are admitted in private designated Covid hospitals.
New private designated hospitals will need to collect the charges for private quota patients as per the order dated 1st of June 2020
