Gold plating of 66 kalash completed atop Somnath mandir

Prabhas Patan: All 1450 sandstone made kalash over Somnath mandir will be plated with gold. The work has already kicked off and so far 66 kalash (stone spires) have been made golden. According to Shri Somnath Trust, donations have been made by over 500 families to sponsor gold plating of equal number of spires. The work is likely to be completed in a year. The amount of donation, individual/family can made to sponsor gold-plating of large spire is Rs. 1.51 lakh. For medium size spire it is Rs. 1.21 lakh, while for small size spire it is Rs. 1.11 lakh.
