Ahmedabad: City Crime Branch has solved mysterious missing case of Vadodara based Sweety Patel, wife of Police Inspector Ajay Desai. Premvir Singh, Additional Police Commissioner (ACP) of Ahmeadbad city crime branch while addressing the press today evening said that

Singh while sharing the details of detection said, ‘Sweety Patel was in live-in relation with Vaodara (Rural) police inspector Ajay Desai. She was choked to death by Ajay Desai on June 4. Desai on June 5 took Sweety’s dead body in his Jeep Compass car and and burnt it in unused property of Kiritsinh Jadeja of Atali village. Jadeja runs Vaibhav hotel in Atali.’

Desai’s location was traced to the place of disposal of dead body, Police said adding that Desai choked Sweety to death when she was sleeping with her child. The place where body was burnt was located 40-50 kms away from the place or murder.

Desai had done reiki of Atali based location in April-end and he was planning for Sweety’s murder for last two months, said police.

Singh in reply to a question on motive of murder said, ‘Ajay Desai had wedded a woman and due to that there was a dispute between Ajay Desai and Sweety Patel. Ajay Desai had divorced his first wife and started living with Sweety Patel in live-in relationship, but he wedded another woman also then.’

Ajay and Sweety came into contact in year 2015 said Police. Sweety was married to a person in the United States, however she after divorce left USA and started live-in with Ajay Desai.

Investigation team had strong doubt on Inspector Desai in this case, however gathering evidences and figuring out the sequence of events was a challenge, as the accused himself was Police Inspector working with Special Operation Group (SOG). Doubt against Desai went stronger especially when he refused to undergo Narco analysis test on last moment earlier this week.

Vadodara: Police here has arrested Ajay Desai, Inspector of Special Operation Group (SOG), Vadodara rural police and Kiritsinh Jadeja, a Congress leader who contested Karjan assembly by-election last year on Congress symbol in Sweety Desai murder case. Desai has confessed that he murdered his live-in partner Sweety Patel (40). Kiritsinh Jadeja is accused of assisting Desai in disposal of dead body.
