8,973 “farmers” barred from PM-Kisan assistance in Banaskantha

Gandhnagar: The agriculture department of the state has stopped providing the financial aid of PM Kisan Sahay to as many as 8,973 well-to-do “farmers” of Banaskantha district.
The agriculture department had found in a survey that 8,973 “farmers” of Banaskantha having government jobs and paying income-tax were getting financial aid under PM Kisan Sahay. The highest number of farmers whose financial aid is stopped are from Palanpur taluka which is 1,666 “farmers”. The lowest number is from Amirgadh taluka which is 151.
A Total 4.52 lakh farmers get the benefit of PM Kisan Sahay in Banaskantha at present. The central government deposits a financial aid of Rs 6 thousand annually considering Rs 1000 per 4 months to the farmers. DeshGujarat
