Gujarat government reduces Rs. 7 per liter VAT on petrol and diesel in the State

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel around midnight made announcement to cut additional Rs. 7 per liter in petrol and diesel prices in the State by reducing Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel which comes under State government’s purview. The cut has been made effective from midnight.
The Central government earlier in the evening announced reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 respectively, to be effective from midnight. The end user are going to benefit from both the cuts announced by the Centre and the State.
It’s worth noting that the other State government ruled by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have also made announcement to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel, in addition to cut announced by the Centre.
