Gujarat govt imposes restrictions on edible oil storage after prices go up

Gandhinagar: The state government has put restriction on the storage of edible oils considering the constantly increasing prices of edible oils.
The decision was declared by the food and civil supply department. The storage of 30 quintals will be allowed for retail purpose and 500 quintals for wholesale purpose.
The increase in the price of groundnut oil and cottonseed oil is about thrice compared to the increase in the prices of groundnut and cotton seed crops from 1st January to present day. The price of groundnut is stable between Rs 900 to Rs 1150 per 20 kg, which was Rs 900 to Rs 1140 per 20 kg earlier in the yard. It is at a price between Rs 890 to Rs 1212 at present day. Whereas, the price of groundnut oil was between Rs 2220 to Rs 2270 per 15 kg on 31st December, which is between Rs 2370 to 2420 per 15 kg at present. It means that there is a total hike of Rs 150 in this duration and the increase of Rs 150 is done within the last one week.
The price of Rs 2004 per 20 kg was paid for good quality cottonseed on 15th January. It reached at Rs 1710 to Rs 2100 at present. The price of cottonseed oil was Rs 2050 to Rs 2090 per 15 kg on 31st December. It has reached Rs 2305 to Rs 2355 at present day. There was a price hike of Rs 70 within last week in cottonseed oil. The groundnut and cottonseed crops are sold at the rate per 20 kg and their edible oils are sold at the rate per 15 kg. DeshGujarat
