Gujarat CM to lay foundation stone for Bilimora – Vaghrech tidal dam project

Surat: The foundation stone laying of Bilimora Vaghrech tidal dam in Navsari will take place on 15th May in the presence of CM Bhupendra Patel.
The Vaghrech tidal regulator project will be built on Kaveri river in Vaghrech village in the downstream of Bilimora Valsad coastal highway. The approximate cost of the tender of the project is Rs 250.00 crore. A weir structure with gates will be built on the river in this project. It is also planned to make dikes and walls for preventing flooding, on EPC basis.
The weirs of 500-metre length, along with a pile foundation will be constructed on Kaveri river. The strengthening of existing dikes of 8381 metres length, construction of new dikes and walls of concrete is also included in the project. The drainage and CD works for removal of rainwater and HR construction for irrigation are also planned in the project.
The Bilimora municipality and 10 villages will get drinking water and irrigation water due to this project. DeshGujarat
